Financial Hardship Form

The Waukee Community Schools Foundation has a Financial Hardship Fund to meet the immediate and critical needs of Waukee students while they are in our school buildings.

  • Hardship Fund requests must be submitted by a WCSD employee.

  • Hardship Fund requests must align with WCSD policy and procedures to be considered for approval.

  • Hardship Fund grants must positively impact a student’s wellness, classroom experience, and/or performance in the school setting.

  • Hardship Fund grants will be awarded with the specific intention of empowering recipients to overcome the obstacles they are facing. The Foundation works hard to avoid creating situations that are enabling or disempowering to an individual or family.

  • The Foundation will give consideration to needs in support of a student’s family, where this aligns with all other criteria, while recognizing that families must also be invested in their ongoing success.

  • Snack purchases for ongoing school or afterschool activities outside of the refrigerator programs, where established, do not qualify for Hardship Funds. 

  • The Foundation will not disburse Hardship Funds in cash payments.

  • The Foundation will not contribute Hardship Funds to GoFundMe or like accounts.
