Professional Development

Supporting our Educators

The Waukee Community Schools Foundation supports the school district through funding for Professional Development Grants. These grants provide continuing education for our teachers so they may provide the highest level of education for our students.

In 2021-2022, the Foundation provided $19,000 to the District in support of Priority One of the WCSD Strategic Plan, which speaks to the implementation of an Academic and Social Emotional Learning framework. District leaders chose the High Reliability Schools' approach, which concentrates school improvement in five key areas, with the maintaining of a safe, supportive, and collaborative school culture at the foundation of best practices within all teaching and learning. The Foundation grant provided funds for 26 teachers to attend a High Reliability Schools conference for further exploration and learning.

In 2019-2020, the Foundation provided $22,674 for professional development. In order to ensure the funding was equitable across all buildings and grade levels, the Foundation’s funds were equal to $2/student.

The Foundation works closely with district officials to determine best use of funds based on each year’s needs. If you have questions about Professional Development Grants, please click the button below to get in touch with us!
